About C.A.T.S.
I first started reading comics in the 1980s, back when JuniorPress was publishing Dutch editions. In the 1990s, American comics became easier to find in our region, and that’s when I really caught the collecting bug. With the rise of the internet, rare issues suddenly became accessible, which also opened the door to selling my duplicates. By 2001, my collection had grown to over 20,000 comics, along with a substantial amount of Star Wars toys, taking up a significant amount of space. That’s when I decided to make some changes and let go of a large part of the collection. These comics and toys sold quickly online, sparking the idea to dive deeper into comic trading.
After more than 20 years of collecting and trading, I decided in early 2024 to turn my hobby into a profession. My love for comics and toys runs deep, and so does my knowledge in this field. Moreover, I believe in doing what you enjoy, which is why I’m starting out as an independent entrepreneur.
Another ambition of mine is to inspire young people to pick up reading again. Manga is incredibly popular with the youth, but I’d also love to introduce them to Dutch translations of comics that were once published by JuniorPress, Baldakijn, and now by publishers like Dark Dragon Books. Reading enriches your life and develops your mind—a true win-win situation.
I don’t aspire to be the biggest; I prioritize delivering high-quality comics at fair prices, along with a wide range of manga and collectible toys. Quality over quantity is my motto.
I look forward to welcoming you to my webshop and am always happy to help.
